And coming up on Track #2 is the Christmas Convoy Train! This train will be making stops all around the world so be sure to have your travelling clothes on and your snagging fingers ready. At last count, we had about 45 designers signed up to participate – and I know we had more joining us after that, so this is a very big kit, when combined! Here is my share of the train:

My share contains:

10 papers and 14 elements

And the download links are:

Papers – Full Sized - (12 in x 12 in, 300 ppi) – png and jpg in zip

Elements – 300 ppi, png format only

Now, this blog train is only for Full Size Kits… however… I have made the following tagger size papers available which are NOT part of the train, however they are the same papers as the ones you find in the Christmas Convoy kit. You do NOT have to download this if you don’t wish. I just know that some taggers (being a tagger myself) prefer the smaller size papers as they are easier to work with. For those that desire that size, here they are:

Papers – Tagger Size (600 pixels x 600 pixels, 300 ppi) – png and jpg in zip

EDIT: December 3, 2008 ... 8:15 AM Central Time, USA: For those who were here from December 1st to now, the link for the Tagger Sized Papers for the Christmas Convoy was incorrect. It originally brought you to the Elements download. My apologies for this error! The link has now been fixed and SHOULD bring you to the Tagger Sized Papers. If you still experience problems with this, PLEASE let me know. I am SOOOO sorry I didn't catch this sooner.

And the list of participating designers in the Christmas Convoy are:

Just remember to stay safe too!

Anyways, for today I have an awesome freebie! This is actually a kit that I took part in with a bunch of very creative people in a group that I am in called Scrappy Wonders. Birthday Freebie

Ok.... I think this may be a bit backwards!

Today is my birthday - at least for a couple more hours - and I thought, to help me celebrate it, I would share a freebie with you all! Now, isn't it suppose to be the other way around? The birthday girl gets the gifts? LOL

No matter! This is something I made up today while playing in PSP - decided I was just gonna relax and have fun on my special day. There are two versions - ones 'with glass' and ones 'without glass'. I hope you like them!

Just Floppin' Along

Hello Everyone!

I hope this early Tuesday morning finds you all doing well! Had a full day yesterday, including having both the electricity and gas shut off (and then turned back on a few hours later). I'm just glad we were able to get them back on. Another thing we were able to get done lately is get the front headlight on the car replaced. About 2 months (or so) ago, my husband was going through an intersection - he had the green light - and this guy cut him off, turning (hubby was going straight ahead), clipping the front passenger side of our minivan. The headlight was smashed as well as some of the body of the car. When hubby pulled to the side after getting through the intersection (expecting the other person would stop as well to exchange info), he ended up getting shot at, 3 times!! He jumped in the van, headed home, called the police, and filed a report!

Anyways, we hadn't had the extra money for the part, and a few trips to the local auto pull-apart yard had yielded nothing. The local auto parts store wanted $301.00+ for the part (uh thanks, but uh... no thanks... need to buy luxuries like groceries and medicine!). About a week ago we found a place online that was selling the part we needed for about $78. Granted, a bit more than pull-apart but WAAY less than the auto parts store. We ordered it, and it arrived on Saturday afternoon. When we went to the laundromat yesterday to use the dryers, hubby brought along the part and got it installed while the clothes were drying. It is sooo nice to have the headlight back and to know we won't be getting stopped by the police anymore, who ask "Do you know you have a light missing?" (We then explain to them what happened, that a report was filed, that I am on a limited income due to disability and that when we had the extra money we would have it fixed. They were very understanding and let us off with only warnings.)

So we are slowly but surely tying up some loose ends. We are still awaiting a formal response from SSI about my husband's disability case. He had his 4th appeal/hearing in August and they said we should hear something soon. It's been 4 years this month that he initially applied and it's been a long, long waiting game.

For my birthday, I was able to buy a "For Dummies" book on PhotoShop CS3, so I can finally learn and understand how to use the program, and then I can start doing some creating on it as well as continue on Paint Shop Pro. The book is originally about $40 (it's an "all in one" book) and I managed to find it a Half.com for about $21! Nice price. I also was able to get the Vana'diel Collection for Windows as I was needing the expansion packs and have been waiting since last birthday for this! (In case you didn't know, I'm a big gamer as well, and LOVE playing Final Fantasy 11, which is an MMORPG.)

I've also been busy playing and creating in PSP. I've been learning some new things, found some new tutorials and even managed to discover how to do a couple of new techniques!! One of the things I've recently made are these floppy-looking flowers, which I'm sharing with you all today:
Photobucket

They come in 10 basic colors, and come in the 3 usual formats (.png, .psp, and .pspimage).

Here are the download links:

If you do download, please leave a comment?

My big news!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Well, like I said in one of my last posts, I have some awesome news to share. About a week ago, I was approached by a fellow designer who was getting ready to open a new scrap store, and she asked if I wanted to join them! I was quite thrilled to be asked, and I accepted. Now please be assured that I will still go on offering many freebies here on the blog - that won't change. I will also be offering a few things each month at the store, and they will be very reasonably priced, as I feel you shouldn't have to pay a lot to create!

Anyways, the name of the store is called The Creativity Shack and it can be found here:
http://store.creativityshack.com/
It just went "live" today, and the owner has told me we have had a lot of visitors already!!

Currently I have 2 items up - some flowers (listed under Elements) and a paper pack (listed under Papers). You can see my page here:
http://store.thecreativityshack.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_9

The store is still working out some of the kinks, so if you have any problems there, please let us know!

Hope to see you there, and when I put new items in the store, I'll put a little alert on here. However, just a reminder that I will STILL be sharing freebies here as well!

Until next time.... Enjoy the weekend!

Ice Ice Baby!

OK….so maybe the lack of sleep is starting to show! LOL

I’ve been busy the last few days, trying to get stuff done, tying up some loose ends. I finished the last of the 3 December blog train items tonight, have them all zipped up… just waiting for the day to arrive so I can post them and share them with you all. Two of the trains will be swinging by on December 1st, while the last of them will come to the station here on the 15th of December, so be sure to come back to grab my portions of these wonderful trains!

Also, I will have some exciting news for you before the weekend. I can’t wait to tell you all, but I’m being good! It is a new and challenging step for me and… well… that’s all I’m going to say about that!

And the other reason I’m posting tonight is that I have another freebie for you all! I seem to have gotten in to the holiday spirit – I think working on the blog train items had a lot to do with that! – and I made another pretty wreath. This time it is an “ice purple” color! I hope you all like it. Here is the preview:

And here are the download links:

Please feel free to leave comments here on my blog – especially if you download - since 4shared has changed the way you can leave comments there.

And remember, if you like what you see, be sure to check back often, because I am often putting stuff up to share with you all!

I'll Have a Blue Christmas.....

Good morning everyone!

I have just a quick share before I head off to bed for a couple of hours and have to be up again to take my daughter to school. I was fiddling around with some different filters and stuff in PSP and came up with a pretty blue holiday wreath. I hope you all like it! Here's the preview:

Photobucket

I have it in 4 formats - the typical 3 plus .psd for the Photoshop users out there!

Here are the links:

.png format
.psd format
.psp format
.pspimage format

Hope you like and if you download, please leave a lil love? Since it seems that 4shared has done some changing (you can only leave a comment if you are signed in to 4shared), please feel free to leave your comment on my blog - either on this post or in the "shoutout" box in the right-side column.

Thanks so much and be sure to check back often!!

I’ve Been Framed!

Well, ok…..not really! Made ya look though, didn’t it?

I’m just sitting here, waiting for my daughter to finish getting ready for school (she hasn’t gone the last few days and told her that if she doesn’t go today, she’s going to be grounded for a week!), so figured I’d write a quick post and put up my share for today.

I was playing around in PSP last night, trying out some different filters that I don’t normally play with, and came up with some striped “glassy” frames for you all. I made them in 8 different colors, and in the usual 3 formats (.png, .psp and .pspimage).

Here is the preview:

And here are the download links:

.pspimage format

If you download, please leave a comment? Or if you make anything with my creations, I’d love to see it!

Also, I added a poll/questionnaire thing on the right side - if you could please cast a vote, I'd really appreciate it! Please note that I'm not thinking of offering that format instead of what I currently offer. I'm thinking of offering that format *in addition* to the formats I currently offer.

Until next time….

A Christmas Request

Good morning everyone!

Well, I had a request from a friend of mine (Astro of Stellarfairie Designs) to make a Christmas Kit for a scrap project she is doing, so… I spent about 4 hours tonite, working on this kit. You are all welcome to snag it if you’d like – it’s not as large as my usual kits, however you should be able to find something to use. I am still working on the holiday-themed kits for the blog trains in December, plus the Yuletide kit that I hope to have out by end of November, beginning of December at the latest.

Anyways, here is a preview of the Christmas kit, called Christmas Morning:

WRPDC_CmasMorningKit_Full_preview

And the upload links (4shared):

I hope you all enjoy this little kit – and please remember to leave some love if you download?

November Awareness Month

h-alzaware

November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. It holds a very special significance for me as my father passed away on September 7th, 2002 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. He suffered 10 long years with the gradual loss of his memory, and eventually his life. I am very thankful, though, that even to his last breath, he never forgot me or my kids. He forgot other family members, but not us. I truly miss him. I can honestly say that my dad was also my best friend, and he had such a big influence on me, which is kind of funny because for the longest time I thought that my view on life was due to my mom’s influence, when it fact, it was really my dad.

I have recently discovered that November is also National Adoption Awareness Month for those that reside in the United States. I was adopted at birth, so again, another cause that is close to my heart.

diabetes awareness

And, for those who either have been diagnosed with Diabetes, or have a loved one with this disease, November is also Diabetes Awareness Month. My mother had diabetes and fought for many years to get it under control. She had a difficult time as her triglycerides were always “off the chart”, and she ended up in the hospital quite a few times in an attempt to get her diabetes under control. I remember needing to learn how to give her an insulin injection, as a safety measure, in case she got too sick to give it to herself. I learned how to fill the syringe. This later came in handy as I was diagnosed with pre-Diabetes and was briefly put on Byetta. (I ended up taking myself OFF it when I discovered there was a recall on it from the FDA, due to possible links with liver damage. I wasn’t taking that kind of chance with my health.)

Anyways…. I am sure there are other causes that are in the spotlight this month – I just thought I’d say a little about the three that are closest to my heart.

2 round frames
2 moon "accents" (kind of glassy/metal look to them)

Elements (300 ppi) .... png only

Alphas, Numbers and a few symbols (300 ppi) ... png only

(EDIT: Saturday, November 1st: 4shared has been doing a server upgrade, so if you are not able to get to the downloads (page error message, etc), please try back later. I have checked the links myself and they *do* work.)

I know, normally I have the .psp format available too. If anyone would like it in that format, just give me a holler and I'll make it up for you!

If you download, please leave a lil love?

And be sure to check out the other designers that worked hard to make this a big success. If some of these pieces aren't up yet, be patient! Question for Other Bloggers

Just wondering if any bloggers out there have used Windows Live Writer and if so, what were/are your impressions on it? Was it easy to use, difficult to use, better or worse than just going to the blog site and posting from there? I have downloaded it but haven't tried it yet and was curious what others thought of it.

Please feel free to leave comments as I'm very curious about this.

Busy Busy Busy!

(well, trying this again... first time, the browser froze and I lost EVERYTHING I had written... ::sighs::)

Just dropping a quick note to let you all know that I have been busy, creating for you all. I am actually participating in 3 different blog trains that will be coming through in the next couple of months. In November, I'll be part of a wonderful train called "After Dark" which is supported by the designers at ADS Designers. I have seen quite a few of the other parts and have to tell you, if you don't go around snagging them, you are really going to miss out. A lot of hard work and effort went in to creating these lovely pieces, and I'm sure the designers would love to see how much their work is appreciated! Look for my part - and the links - on November 1st! It will be going on all during the month of November.

Then, in December, I will be taking part in 3 different blog trains. Yes, you read right! Three! The first one, leaving the station on December 1st, is another blog headed up by ADS Designers. This one is called "Holiday At Home" and it's already looking to be a very interesting, memorable kit! Each designer is allowed to use their own color scheme/palette for their portion of the kit, and there are already a good number of designers signed up to take part! It will be exciting to see the different holiday colors and themes portrayed in the different parts of the collaboration. Be sure to check here on December 1st for my part of the train, and the links for this wonderful kit.

Also on December 1st, I will be participating in the Christmas Convoy! This is really shaping up to be an impressive kit as the designers are doing their best to share with you their little bit of the holidays! There is still some time to sign up if you are a designer and interested. Just send an email to ChristmasConvoy (at) gmail.com stating your interest in participating in the Christmas Convoy. Be sure to include your Yahoo ID, Designer name, and URL to your blog/site. (Also note, they are already taking information for those who are interested in participating in their New Years Convoy too!)

Then, on December 15th, I will be getting on board the Holly Jolly Express with my part of this wonderful, huge kit which currently has about 50 designers signed up to participate! There are some established designers taking part, like Queen Brat, Hummie, and Gail of Aussie Scraps. For a list of the participating designers, check here. And if you are interested in participating, I'm sure they'd love to have you! Information for submission guidelines and contact email can be found here.

And then, on top of all these wonderful blog trains, I am trying to make my own Yuletide kit. I've been trying to work on a color scheme that isn't real close to the ones being used for the collaborative kits. I don't know what size this kit will be, so I guess we will both be surprised!

Anyways, going to log here, so I can get to working on some of the kits and email and other stuff. May you all have a happy, haunted (and safe!) Halloween

and to my fellow pagan friends and readers, may you have a Blessed Samhain.

New Template!

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick share this morning while I wait for my daughter to finish getting ready. She has a follow up appointment with her doctor at 9:10 AM as she has managed to get another ear infection about a week ago. For those of you who might not know, she has a bad history of ear infections - ever since she was a baby. Last winter she had one so bad it ended up as a perforated eardrum and took over 2 months to heal. Needless to say she also missed quite a bit of school and ended up taking summer school to make up the missed time so she could go on to the next grade. We really don't want a repeat performance of last winter. She's been on antibiotics for the last week or so for the right ear however now she says that her left ear is bothering her (that's the ear we had the problems with last winter), so I'm a tad worried what the doctor is going to say.

So anyways, while she was getting ready, I whipped up a tag template real quick. I've been sketching out different ideas for templates when I'm not on the computer, and this is one of the ones I thought up on paper. Hope you all like! Here is the preview:
