Happy New Year and Plans for 2010

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!!

Photobucket

As you might have noticed, I updated the look of my blog just a bit. I also wanted to let you all know that I am planning to get more active with my scrapping in the new year, and to participate in some blog trains as well. I realize that my items in the store have not been selling very much... I will be re-evaluating that and possibly either a) move to another store or b) go back to offering all freebies. Whatever I end up deciding, you will all be the first to know. I also want to thank you all for sticking by me and with me as I struggle with the depression an bipolar - especially over the last several months. I appreciate it more than you will EVER know!!

Also, an update about my knee. I went to the specialist in August. They took a bunch of x-rays (wow, did THAT hurt! Trying to stand in certain positions, full weight on that leg... not fun). The specialist said that I have 'early onset arthritis' in that knee, which is being made more difficult by my added weight. He gave me a cortisone shot right in the knee, said that (on average) it lasts about 3 months...I think I went about a week before I started feeling ANY discomfort so I am just learning to live with it, and trying to lose weight (very very slow process ::sighs:: ). I have been taking a glucosomine/chondrotin pill daily as it was recommended that it might help. Still to early to tell but I'm willing to give it a try.

Anyways... I hope to be back soon with some stuff for you all. Until then, take care and have a wonderful, safe new year with wishes for a prosperous 2010!!

My apologies and info on a wonderful collaboration

Before I go any further, I want to apologize to everyone who has visited my blog in the last couple of months, looking for new items, and have gone away empty-handed. I also wish to apologize to the people involved in the blog trains and convoys that I had originally signed up for in the last month or two and then (honestly) forgot I had committed myself to.... I know words will never be enough to express how truly sorry I am and I hope that somehow I can make it up to you all and show that I really am not like this, I do not back out of commitments. The last couple of months have been difficult for me, although if you asked for any one particular reason as to 'why', I'm not sure I could give you a straight answer. I have dealt with chronic depression most of my life and it seems that the last couple of months I have been in a very bad "funk" and I am trying my hardest to crawl out of the rut that I seem to have put myself in. There are some days I don't even really want to get out of bed, however I force myself to do it because I know I need to get up and do something, anything....even if it's just a small something....to keep me going. Some days I just feel so defeated, so sick and tired of being sick and tired..... On top of it all, I fell here in the house about 2 months ago. We have hard linoleum floors (no rugs) and we had been cleaning that day, including quick mopping the floors. I hit a wet spot and went straight down on my left knee, and slid a bit to the inside of the knee. As some of you may know, I am not a small woman so the added weight on the knee when I fell surely didn't help. Well, since then, I have had a lot of pain and swelling and discomfort in that knee. I have tried everything and have even seen my doctor - not much is working. The doctor is suppose to be working on a referral for me for an ortho specialist, and I'm hoping that they can help. There are some days I can't straighten my leg at all or put my full body weight on it. Even standing for 15 minutes in the shower is a major chore. So on top of it all, I'm just sick and tired of being in pain and discomfort.

Anyways I wanted to let you know that I am still here, I am working on trying to get myself out of this bad funk and actually have been working on a few different things in PSP. I even joined a scrapping group to learn some new skills to improve what I am offering to you all.

I also wanted to let you all know about a wonderful collaboration that quite a few of the designers from The Creativity Shack - and other stores too - have worked very hard on and have up at a few different stores, including TCS. The kit is called "Friends and Family Collab" and is a beautiful kit of wonderful hues of purple! Here is a preview of just some of what is offered:

Photobucket

The proceeds for this kit will be going to a wonderful scrapper who is going through a lot of personal issues right now and needs our support. So please, head on over to the store (just click the link, above the preview, where the name of the kit is mentioned), check it out and help lend a hand to a fellow scrapper in need. And what is even better is the kit is now 50% off, for only $1.50!! With so much offered in the kit, and helping someone in need, this is surely a win-win situation!!

I hope to have something new posted for you all very soon. I hope you all haven't lost your faith in me.

Thank you so much for reading.
::hugs::

New Item in the Store!

Just writing a quick post to share with you my newest item which can be found at The Creativity Shack! I made up a bunch of colorful bead frames which are in a circle shape. They can be used in so many different ways - tags, pictures, paper scrapbooking... you name it!

Here is what they look like:

Photobucket

I don't know - for some reason they remind me of the big bangle bracelets I used to have back in the 80's! What about you?

The preview is much smaller than actual size, and the come in both tagger and full size! And not all colors are shown in the preview - there are actually 10 colors in all! So be sure to snag them here! And while you are there, look around because all my items are 30% off until May 4th, in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day! And I'll be adding more stuff over the next few days and weeks so be sure to check back often both here and at the store. Did I tell you that I'm the Featured Designer at the store for the entire month of May?? Talk about excited!!

OK everyone... head on over there and check things out!!

Spring Fever Blog Train, Update, And Featured Designer

I just wanted to let you all know that I am working on it, however I was put a little behind due to some things going on in my personal life, including our van being in an accident that totaled it (pics of it can be seen here), as well as my oldest son being sick for the last 4 or 5 days, and other life "crap". My apologies to all and I promise as soon as its completed, it will be posted. I am also working on a couple of other blog trains which are in the works and will be posted, just might be a day or two later than start time, to which I am apologizing to EVERYONE that comes by looking for my part. I will get them to you - just a little late. I feel REALLY bad about this - it is not like me to not have my portions up and ready. When I commit to something, I do my best to see it through.

Another thing that has been keeping me busy is I was given the awesome news that I am the Featured Designer of the Month at The Creativity Shack! I am so excited about this, so on top of my freebies and blog train items, I have been working on new items for the store. Additionally, because May 1st is National Scrapbooking Day, many of the designers (including yours truly!) are putting their items up for sale. All my items in the store will be 30% off their already low prices from May 1st to May 3rd in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day, so be sure to check them out!

Photobucket

Again, my apologies for the lateness in the blog train portions and I will do what I can to make it up to you all!!

Thank you for visiting my blog, leaving wonderful comments, and downloading my creations. It gives me a nice feeling to know that there are others that like what I do!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail.....

Happy April everyone!!

I'm just hopping in to wish you Happy Spring and to bring you my part of the Hippity Hoppity Blog Train. I have some pretty papers and some cute elements for you all. I know it's not as much as I usually make, however I have been very busy here at home. We moved into a new place on April 16th and we have been going almost non-stop for the last several days. Additionally I just got a new computer, so I had been without a computer for about 4 days, so I wanted to make sure that my part was done and uploaded and ready to go before my old computer went in the shop (we upgraded the RAM so my daughter could have it).

Anyways, without further ado, here is a preview of my part of the Hippity Hoppity Blog Train, which consists of 6 papers and 11 elements :

Exciting News and an Update

Hello everyone!
As some of you may know, I've been on the waiting list for housing through the Housing Authority here in Oklahoma City. About a week ago, I got a call saying they had a 3-bedroom house up for rent and was I interested. I said "yes" and she gave me the address - come to find out it is only about 5 blocks from where we are currently living! We signed the rental papers and stuff on Monday afternoon and we have been moving boxes and stuff over little by little. We are have been moving the big items over today with some help from friends and family members (Wes' family). The phone (as well as cable and tv) was moved over some time on Friday.

I wanted to let you all know that I had to back out of my commitment to the St. Patrick's Day Convoy due to being so busy with the move, and I hope that you all understand. I don't like to do that - when I commit to something, I intend to stay with it, however this was something a bit beyond my control. When I am a bit more settled, I will try to make it up to you all.
If you are interested, I uploaded some pictures of the new place, and they can be seen here:
Hope all is well on your end!
I'll be back online soon - hopefully within the next few days.

Thanks and take care!

PS: The poll on the paper sizes has closed and it was VERY VERY close - with the 600x600 and 800x800 sizes only having a 1 vote difference, with the 800x800 winning with 18 votes (46%). If anyone would like to make any last comments or suggestions about this (these are for tagger sizes ONLY .... full sizes will STILL be done at 12 inch x 12 inch), then feel free to leave me a comment! And thanks to all who participated in the poll - your input is appreciated!!!

Short Questionnaire

I have a small request to those who visit my blog, and especially those who download my stuff...
I have a questionnaire at the top of my blog, to the right, about paper sizes. Could you please just tick off which answer you agree with, so I can have a better idea of what sizes I should offer in the future?

Thank you!

Birthdays and Springtime

Photobucket

Wow... in just a little bit, March will be here. How does that saying go? March roars in like a lion and out like a lamb? Or something along those words.... lol

There is something about both birthdays and springtime that brings out the fun in people. Not sure why. I mean I can understand the birthday part - fun, friends, good food (cake and ice cream - yum!) and yep, the presents! As for the spring, maybe it's because we're coming out of hibernation, out of the cold and into the warmth of a new season, a time of rebirth and growth....a time when you see people cleaning up their yards and repairing their homes from the harsh winter, making things look new again, getting ready to spend more time outside. Sounds upbeat to me, don't ya think?

I have 3 blog trains that go live today, so March also brings about a time of busyness for me. The first one is the Birthday Blog Train (or Convoy), whose colors are bright and festive and reminds me a bit of a carnival! A lot of talented designers took part in this and have wonderful shares for you all. Here is my preview to my part:

Photobucket

I have a total of 12 papers and 15 elements, in both full and tagger size. (Technically, only the full size are part of the blog train, however I know that many come to my blog for tagger size items as well, so I went ahead and made both sizes.) The full size papers are 12 inch x 12 inch, 300 ppi, png format with matching jpgs and the elements are corresponding in size, ppi and format. The tagger size papers are 600 pixels x 600 pixels, png format with matching jpgs while the elements are no wider than 700 pixels (with the exception of the balloons, which are no wider than 800 pixels), in png format. The clips were made courtesy of a script from Jennie's World. The link to her site can be found in the "Resources" area on the right side of my blog.

And remember, leave a little love when you visit, as well all love to hear from you all and know you like what we are doing!

Additional note: Julia of Beacon Scrap will be delayed by a few days due to problems with her computer. She hopes to have her part of the train on her blog by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Also, Angi (of Angi's Place) just contacted us in the group to tell us that her part will also be delayed as she took a "nasty spill" and required emergency oral surgery, and is on pain killers. She will try to post her part by Tuesday. Should either designers take longer, I will let you all know.

And now, from birthdays to springtime!!

The second of 3 blog trains is my part of the monthly ADSD blog trains, which I really enjoy being a part of. The colors for this months kit are absolutely breathtaking - I could have made many more things for this. In fact, I had to stop myself so I could work on the other blog trains!! Such wonderful pastels were chosen for this kit. Here is my preview:

Photobucket

There are 12 papers and 30 elements, in both full and tagger size. (Technically, only the full size are part of the blog train, however I know that many come to my blog for tagger size items as well, so I went ahead and made both sizes.) Tornadoes in Oklahoma

As many of you may not know, Oklahoma was hit with some powerful tornadoes on February 10, 2009. While I live close to the affected areas, we were lucky to not have been hit. I could hear the sirens going off as I was driving to pick up my daughter from school, and they sounded so close, too. Usually the kids are outside, waiting for parents or the buses, however on that day, they had all the children in the building. When I pulled up, there were only a few faculty members outside and the usual police officer who is there for security for the school. The sky was very dark and cloudy and you could hear different reports coming over the radio in the police car. One of the tornadoes touched down right near a friend of ours, who lives about 10 minutes away. Many people lost their homes, businesses, and 8 people lost their lives.

The reason I am writing about this is, one of our fellow scrapping designers, Linda of Linda's Dream Designs, had family members (nephew and his family) affected by these tornadoes. Many designers - including myself - are joining together to participate in a collaboration kit to help them in their time of need. Here is the message I received from Joni at Bouquet of Pixels:

We will be doing a charity collab for Linda's (Linda's Dream Designs) nephew & his family. Here's a little of their story:

Joey and his wife, Karri, have 5 children: Kylie (12), Emily (10), Nathan (9), Cayden (8), and Braden (6). They were among the families tragically affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma in February of 2009. They had a fire in their home during these storms, and they totally lost everything. They were unable to afford insurance and are, therefore, left with absolutely nothing. Their fire was due to the grass fires that happened and the storm winds stoked the fire that caught their home on fire. Thankfully, nobody was home at the time it happened, and they are all safe. They are staying with family for a short time but, as you can imagine with 7 people, it is very cramped and they can't stay long. The American Red Cross is supposed to be giving them $400 to put towards rent on a place to live and they will also be giving them some clothes and toys for the kids.

The color palette can be seen here. You may add white and black as well. The theme will be a kids theme (think playground, toys, fun, etc.). The name will be For The Kids. You can do as much or as little as you wish. Please name your part with your design name_forthekids_item. Please make a preview of your part and include your TOU in your zip. When you are finished, please upload it to FTP and email me to let me know that you have finished it.

It will be due no later than March 10, 2009. If you can get it completed sooner, that would be great. If we can get the whole collab on the market sooner, that means that we can start making money for this family sooner!

I will also have a donate button that will be available to put on your blog (if you choose) so people can choose to either donate money or purchase the kit.

Remember...this is an optional kit! If you would like to participate, please sign up HERE.

I have been in touch with Joni, who told me that anyone interested in this can find out more information at this link: http://bouquetofpixels.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=53.

I will keep you posted on the kit - when it is completed and ready to purchase.

Please keep all of those who were affected, in your prayers.
Thank you.

Update on Lifting Hopes Charity Kit

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if you remember me posting about a charity collab kit to which I had contributed some papers and elements. Well, I wanted to let you know that the kit is officially up for sale, and it is a DOOZY! You wouldn't believe how many wonderful designers came together to take part in this amazing kit! It is HUUUUUGE! Here is a very small preview from this very sizeable kit:

Photobucket

There is SO MUCH to this kit (140 papers, 32 ribbons, 30+ frames, many "flying" related elements like birds, balloons and planes, just to start!) so please be sure to check out Lady V's blog for more information and then head on over to Pretty Scrappy to purchase it to help benefit the National Foundation of Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED), a very worthy organization. Also note that in addition to a matching add-on for the kit, there is a free sampler available as well as a free matching QuickPage by Scrappy Shannon. Included in the main kit are coupons from some of the designers, so believe me when I tell you that you are getting more than your money's worth with this kit - and you are helping support a wonderful cause.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Photobucket

Hello everyone!

Just want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! May you spend it with the one you love.

For those who are here for the Valentine's Convoy, I wanted to share something with you. Candy, of Candy's Treasures, made this wonderful quickpage with my part of the convoy:
Photobucket

Didn't she do a beautiful job on it? Be sure to go to her blog and grab it, and leave some love for her too! And Candy, from me - many thanks!

OK... I won't make you wait any longer! LOL Here is my preview for my part of the convoy:

Photobucket

There are 12 papers and 13 elements. While the Convoy is only for full sized scrapping items, I also made tagger sized items for those who come to my blog looking for them.

A Request, Please?

Just a request for those who are snagging the little animations and whatnot from my blog.... I am very flattered that you like the animations and wish to snag them for your own personal usage. Please, my only request is that you save them down to your computer and then either upload them directly to wherever you are using them, or use a photo sharing site (like Photobucket) to store the images. The reason I ask is, all my scrap previews, as well as the background for my blog, all the little animations, blinkies (etc) I have stored on 2 Photobucket accounts that normally don't exceed about 5% of the monthly usage (which is 25 *GB* per month for a free account) and one of the accounts has already exceeded the usage for February, which is HIGHLY unusual, since last month it didn't even go over 3%. That is a VERY big jump. I have had to make 2 more new Photobucket accounts and am in the process of moving images around (and having to edit my posts to reflect the change of location for images), which is time-consuming.

Again, please, I don't mind if you snag the images for your use, or for previews for emails, or whatever. Please, all I ask is not to hotlink the images that I use on my blog that are connected to my Photobucket accounts as #1) that is considered bandwidth stealing, which is illegal and #2) it is maxing out my Photobucket accounts and is causing problems not only with the images already on my blog, but the ability to post images in the future onto my blog.

Thank you for understanding.

Chocolate Candy is for Lovers

Photobucket

Hello everyone! Welcome to February! Hard to believe a month of the new year has already come and gone! Time sure does fly when you are keeping busy!

Speaking of which, one of the things that kept me busy for the month of January was working on the February kit for ADSD, which is called Chocolate Cherry. Now, I was never a fan of the chocolate cherries as a food however I fell in LOVE with the colors for this kit! Very festive and reminds me of Valentines - with the traditional reds and pinks, plus the brown to represent that yummy chocolate Valentine candy! YUM

So, without further ado, here is the preview to my part of the kit:

I am providing papers and elements, in both full size and tagger size.
Full size is 12 inch x 12 inch, 300 ppi, png format (with matching jpgs for the papers).
Tagger size is 600 pixels x 600 pixels, png format (with matching jpgs for the papers).
